Attorney General Jackley Urges Congress to Protect Women in College Sports

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has joined 14 other Attorneys General in urging U.S. House and Senate leadership ensure language that supports and protects the privacy, safety, and opportunities afforded to women student-athletes is not removed from the Protect College Sports Act of 2026 before the final bill goes to the President’s desk.
“I have long advocated that men should not be allowed to play in women sports,” said Attorney General Jackley. “South Dakota is one of 27 states not to allow men to play on women’s sports teams. I am committed to protecting the women student-athletes competing at South Dakota universities.”
Other Attorneys General to sign the letter are from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Utah.
